It is always wise to be as protected as possible when removing trees or removing stumps. Whether using a chainsaw, stump grinder, or any other method, keeping yourself protected and safe should always by the number one priority.
Here is a list of items to make sure to have:
- Hard hat - To protect the head from numerous falling objects, potentially very large pieces of wood.
- Safety Glasses - To protect the face from flying splinters and wood chips.
- Face Shield - To protect the face from flying splinters and wood chips.
- Gloves - To protect from wood chips, and to ensure a good, firm grib on tree and stump removal equipment / tools.
- Pants - Jeans or an additional layer of protective leg coverings.
- Boots - Steel Toe boots preferred. It is also a good idea to have boots with good traction, to prevent slipping when operating any form of tree removal machinery.
